One of my favourite subjects besides people.I love to photograph dereliction and abandoned places and things or Urban exploration as it is better known.
This is one of my favourites from a series I did over two visits to a local abandoned psychiatric hospital. I’ll share some more soon.
Picture wise this was taken with a tripod mounted Leica MP with a 20mm Nikkor 20mm lens via a Novoflex adapter using Ilford XP2 .The negative was scanned on my Epson V700
that is an amazing shot and a “modern” day interpretation of electric chair!!!
such a crisp shot, a direct contrast to the conditions in that room, super work
I would love to get started in photographing stuff like this. Abandoned places. If we are anywhere nearby, perhaps I could tag along. If not, any ideas or comments for new people to get into stuff like this?
As I don’t know where you are based it would be difficult. I began by tagging along with a mate who happens to live a few hundred yards from the hospital this shot was taken in. If you want to start, start simple and never go alone.
Good advice. Thank you.
