Hello again

I must admit it has been a while since I last posted anything here. However there are too many reasons to go into at this time.The main thing is I will try and post at least one shot a week for you to see. Like this one taken at an art gallery not too far from where I live. The camera was very new at the time and this is the one shot that convinced me that my decision was the right one,

The work is called Silent Studio the artist is Mark Manders

@work: Tore

20180606-untitled shoot-2-Edit

I think I saved the best until last. Tore in his workshop. A real nice guy with a fun loving disposition. He said “If you’re going to take a picture I’ll have to look serious”.

I printed  this shot, as I have the others in this series and given them as a thank-you getting in front of my lens.

I hope you enjoyed the series as much as I enjoyed making and sharing it with you.

20180612-untitled shoot-Edit

Taken on the same coffee break as last weeks shot. Rodger was too cool to pose for me instead I took this shot when he leaned over to see what I was doing. I think it worked better in the end.

20180606-untitled shoot-3-Edit-Edit

This shot like last weeks was taken during a coffee break. I love what the wide angle lens can do to a portrait. Tor-Haakon is a really friendly guy, and I think this shows in this shot.

@work: Bjørn Tore

Bjørn Tore is usually a lot more active than this shot shows. I took this shot of him during a coffee break. I broke most of the rules of composition because I wanted to include the workshop.

20180606-untitled shoot-5-Edit-Edit-2-Edit

I said some weeks ago that I will be getting back to a more analogue way of doing things. This involved me lugging around( with smile on my face I might add) my Hasselblad and a 40mm lens. I did a series of lighthearted – lets call them snaps some years back I called @work. Just taken at work of people I could persuade to get in front of the camera. So this is a repeat of that. Anders is a much better photographer than me so I was pleased he didn’t mind me taking this shot of him during a break.

This is a shot in an occasional series I call “Portraits @work. The wide angle portrait gives to my mind a sense of environment, which can be missing in a straight portrait.

I’ve wondered around my place of work and taken,I won’t call them candids, but pictures of people willing to get in front of the lens for me. Carrying around a nice looking Hasselblad adds a little to the fascination for them I think. I’ve had people in the past ask me to take a picture of them. They just fall in love with the camera.

A souvenir my way comes

20180516-untitled shoot-69-Edit-2

The Tour of Norway passed close to my doorstep on Wednesday this week. Being I am a big cycling fan I placed myself where I knew they would have to take a sharp lefthand turn. I lay in the grass with my camera ready and shot off a load of images. After the leaders and the main Peloton had blasted past a domestique from the Uno-X team came past, his hunched back carrying several water bottles for his thirsty team mates.  He threw his empty bottle away and that was my souvenir of the day…plus this shot. So whomever you were (I didn’t get your number) thank you.

The 17th of May…

20170517-untitled shoot-18-Edit-Edit

…is Norway’s national day. For one day the whole of Norway is in party mood. Parades, National dress, ice cream,hotdogs, marching bands, and waving royalty, the whole works. It’s always fun to watch with everyone in their finery.

So maybe raise a glass to celebrate with us.
